Hassan Khaniani
Postdoctoral Researcher

Hassan Khaniani received his B.Sc. (2002) in petroleum exploration engineering from Petroleum University of Technology, Iran, M.Sc. (2004) in petroleum exploration engineering and Ph.D. (2015) in exploration seismology from the University of Calgary, Canada. During his Ph.D., he worked on elastic scattering, iterative migration, and inversion using Kirchhoff approximation. He received a scholarship from CREWES Consortium and collaborated with Nexen and Suncor Energy on the subject of R&D of hydraulic fracturing geomechanics and steam assisted gravity drainage imaging. His research interests include tomography, numerical modeling, seismic imaging, iterative inversion, and geomechanics. He is currently postdoctoral fellow at CREWES project in University of Calgary to continue his research on seismic waveform modeling, migration and inversion.
