Prediction of Elastic Logs from the limited information available from LWD (logging while drilling) information

Missing elastic logs (DTC, DTS & RHOB) can be effectively estimated using the LWD information, provided one knows the formation lithology (chip samples) and a background velocity and density trends derived from seismic. The application of machine learning improves on estimation methods based on empirical relationships and provides the basic information for synthetic well tie while drilling, AVO analysis, and seismic inversion.
